Internet Privacy: How Much is Too Much?

Dr. Gates came to speak to the class about internet privacy. Every day in society, we expose ourselves on the internet in ways that will be saved forever. Whether it be tweeting something you wish you hadn't, or commenting on a post without thinking. Ultimately, what we deem as 'private' in an instantaneous world is no longer the case.

In the world of basketball, you have to be careful of what you put out there. It is great to have confidence in either your team, yourself or anything else, but there is a fine line with keeping information private and divulging important information. If you have been working hard all off-season on a certain jump shot, you are not going to be on social media advertising it! You are going to wait for the very first game to break it out, and have all of the people watching speechless! Basketball is just like the internet. You have to be careful of what you want to be seen. In a time where you can see anything at the click of a button, it is vital for your own personal future that you ALWAYS think before you post, as you never know what may come back to bite you in the future.
