The Journey Continues

Basketball is not a guarantee. You don't wake up and magically happen to be in the NBA. It takes years and years of blood and sweat and tears to achieve where you want to be. Just like in any profession, hard work and sacrifice is key. That is what former Appalachian State student Olivia Easly came in and talked to us about.

Olivia has been all over the place. From North Carolina to Utah, she has done whatever it took to get her feet under her and pursue the career which she wanted to be in. She has worked hard and now works in Raleigh for a company that she truly enjoys. That is the main idea of what she taught us. Whatever it is you are pursuing, you can't give up. Wherever it takes you and whatever you have to do, go for it if it is truly something you love!

Basketball is something that I have loved ever since I can remember. If I had given up, I would not be in the position that I am today. Like in any professional environment, it takes hard work and determination to excel in your field. That's the way the world works, you get out of it what you put into it, and Olivia Easly is a prime example of someone who is reaping those benefits right now!
